Golf putting tips with the Tour Links Training Aids Putting Green – this looks like a great way to get your putting on track. This is a level training stand that sits a few inches off the floor so the ball drops, giving it a more golf green feel to the putting. It comes with a pre-cut putting surface that is supposed to replicate a tour putting speed, so a bit faster than most.
Golf putting tips
It has a string and ball marker set up that comes with the putting surface to give you better golf putting tips. I know golf putting tips are always welcome to most golfers.
The cons of the product I have found from the reviews I have read are:
- The cost seems a bit high.
- Some buyers found the seven and nine foot models to be too short to get proper feedback .
- The thin artificial turf collected lint very fast; I can really see this happening because I had a pool table in my last home.
- In some cases it took awhile for the mat to flatten out on the base.
- The outdoor application is not clear on some ads; it says indoor use, but the putting surface may be the only part you have to keep out of the weather – that would be my guess.
The plus side of The Tour Links Indoor/Outdoor Putting Green Training Aid:
- This product is said to give back very positive feedback on putts when practicing.
- The base is easy to construct - just screws together quickly.
- In most cases the green can be built in 15 minutes or less with only a Phillips screwdriver.
- By inserting the foam contour mats under the turf, an infinite number of breaks can be created and easily changed.
- The cups are designed to move to allow for the expansion and contraction of both the platforms and the turf, thus allowing for perfect cup alignment in all weather conditions.
- The Tour Links putting turf is designed to replicate Tour speed conditions.

The best reason for buying this product would be the golf putting tips and practice I would get from doing golf putting drills on it. My first good reason to buy this product would be the lack of time spent building one that may or may not turn out very good. If you are not the best handy man this would be a big factor in the decision. One more good reason would be this one is fast and easy to put together and movable when needed.
Golf putting tips
I like the string idea for teaching you to line up your putts, but I would rig the set up so it has two strings one exactly above the other. Doing it this way you just have to look down at your ball when putting – when the two strings are lined up and you only see the top string you are set up straight above the ball. This would become a habit and it would greatly improve most anyone’s putting.
The line on the ball tells you if you are slicing or cutting your putts. Getting this type of golf putting tips or feedback has to improve anyone’s putting. The thirteen foot model would be a must for me ,the cost is not that much different if you are getting it at Amazon.com you may get the thirteen foot Tour Links putting turf at the same price or cheaper than you could get the seven or nine foot at most other places. One greater feature is you can buy more parts to add on to the size and shape of the putting surface making it more fun and more useful.
Some of the good points I found in other reviews are:
- To me, this green is great because it takes all the guesswork out of why you may have missed a putt. The elastic string which runs the length of the green is extremely useful to check how “pure” I’m rolling my putts. In the beginning, I was hooking a lot; most putts the ball would start right of the string and then hook back. After experimenting with my putter takeaway, I was able to get rolls which started on the string line and maintained the line until it dropped into the cup. The string is also useful for letting you know if you’re taking your putter inside or outside or straight back during the takeaway and follow through. I can also easily align my body against the string or the stand to ensure that my body is aimed correctly.
- Once I have built the green can I move it to a different location?Yes, simply take the green apart and re-install it at a new location of your choice.
- Can you change the contours? Yes. By inserting the foam contour mats under the turf, an infinite number of breaks can be created and easily changed.
- All Tour Links products are warrantied for 3 years against manufacturer’s defects.

Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to take the guesswork out of why they missed a putt so they can focus on grooving a solid stroke. My only concern is that you get little to no feedback as far as your distance control is concerned. That’s why I’m also investing in a boomerang golf cup and will see if I can use both to shave a few strokes off my game and gain some useful golf putting tips. For more information click here.
